ETA calculator with port time zones

Work out the arrival time from the departure, the distance to go and the planned speed, in each port’s own time.

Arrival time

Departure in the last port’s local time, the distance to go and the planned speed. Time zones include daylight saving.

The arrival time shows here once the departure, distance and speed are in.

How it works

Voyage time is the distance in nautical miles divided by the speed in knots. The calculator converts the departure to UTC with the departure port’s time zone and adds the voyage time. It then shows the arrival in the arrival port’s time zone. Time zones and daylight saving come from the time zone database in your browser.

The speed is taken as constant over the whole passage, so set it to the average speed you expect, including any slow steaming.

Bound for the United States

The result links to the US notice of arrival calculator with the arrival time and voyage time filled in, so the Coast Guard deadline follows from the same numbers.
